The conference welcomed over 250 educators, business and community leaders, nonprofit heads, and policy makers.

On February 23, 2016, a coalition of public and private sector organizations came together to produce the 2nd Annual Delaware Pathways Conference, discussing work underway across the state to equip young Delawareans with the knowledge, skills, and experience to successfully transition to high-growth, high-demand occupations. Programming included:

  • Governor Jack Markell on the status of the Delaware Promise
  • Keynote address by Jamie Merisotis of the Lumina Foundation, focused on attracting, educating and deploying the 21st century workforce
  • A panel of Delaware and National partners involved in this work, including Professor Robert Schwartz of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Pathways to Prosperity Network
  • Breakout sessions featuring educators, employers, parents and students implementing and participating in the Delaware Pathways network
