ABOUT

Post Secondary Opportunities

Navigating your future starts with making informed decisions about your post-secondary education. Whether you're considering college, apprenticeships, or certificate programs, Delaware offers a wide range of options to help you gain the skills needed for long-term success.

College

Earning a 2-year or 4-year degree offers students the chance to develop specialized knowledge in their chosen field while also building critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Colleges and universities in Delaware provide accredited programs that prepare students for leadership roles, career advancement, and personal growth.

apprenticeships

Delaware Pathways also connects students with apprenticeship opportunities. These programs allow you to gain valuable on-the-job experience while learning the skills needed to succeed in your chosen career. Apprenticeships offer a hands-on alternative to traditional education and often lead directly to employment in high-demand industries.

certificate programs

For students looking for a more direct route to the workforce, certificate programs offer targeted training in specific skills. These programs, available through Delaware’s post-secondary institutions, provide industry-recognized credentials that can enhance your employability in fields like healthcare, IT, and advanced manufacturing.

Credit for Prior Learning

Postsecondary programs provide youth and adult learners with the opportunity to earn a high school diploma or GED, an industry valued credential, a two-or-four- year degree, and/or complete a registered apprenticeship program.

Credential and degree programs also connect across institutions and to early college/career programs in high schools, which includes dual enrollment, AP/IB, and career & technical education (CTE).
