About the Organization

Educators Rising Logo - empowering tomorrow's leaders

Delaware Educators Rising is a Career Technical Student Organization affiliated with the Delaware Teacher Academy.  The organization provides students with the ability to participate in professional and personal development events, engage in a variety of educational competitions, and expand their experiences as rising educational professionals.  

Educators Rising develops aspiring educational professionals in Delaware through hands-on experience, expanding their interest in the profession, and helping to develop the skills they need to be effective educators.

Delaware Educators Rising strives to create the “Grow Your Own” model in which Delaware school districts are supported in their early recruitment of teachers from within their own Teacher Academy.

Personal & Professional Development

Delaware Educators Rising organizes events aimed at enhancing both professional and personal skills of aspiring educators. These events provide students with opportunities to engage in activities that prepare them for future roles in the field of education.  Students have the ability to expand their professional network by engaging in the activities.

Innovative Skill Attainment Events

The organization hosts a variety of educational competitions that allow students to showcase their skills and knowledge in the field of education. These competitions are designed to challenge students and promote excellence in educational practices.

Hands-On Experience

Delaware Educators Rising emphasizes providing hands-on experience to students, allowing them to gain practical insights into the teaching profession in a variety of settings. This approach helps students develop the necessary skills to become effective educators.

Supporting the Grow Your Own Initiatives

The organization supports Delaware school districts in implementing the “Grow Your Own” model. This initiative focuses on early recruitment of teachers and education professionals  from within their own Teacher Academy programs, fostering a sustainable pipeline of qualified educators.

Teacher Academy

The Delaware Teacher Academy program of study is a dynamic opportunity for high school students to explore careers in early childhood, elementary, and secondary education. The program emphasizes the importance of equity, inclusion, and belonging while fostering a strong pipeline of rising education professionals committed to serving diverse student populations. Through a combination of classroom instruction, industry-related credentialing, and hands-on work-based learning experiences, such as field observations, teaching internships, and early college credit opportunities, students develop the knowledge, skills, and cultural competencies essential for today’s education professionals. Whether a student dreams of becoming a teacher, counselor, support services professional, or educational leader, the Teacher Academy offers a strong foundation for success in postsecondary education and beyond—all while making a positive impact in their communities.
